The Evil Nina, mint and original in all parts
The Universal Genève Compax is one of the company’s most celebrated watches and the three pieces that are the most desired by collectors are the “Nina Rindt” Ref. 885103/03, the “Exotic Dial” with its two variations Ref. 885107 and Ref. 885108, and the “Evil Nina” Ref. 885103/01 with classical black dial.

In kind of combination of the probably best hand-wound powered chronograph movement, the Valjoux 72 and design elements like the tipical UG avantgarde cut off dauphine hands, these Compax chronos are today a symbol of the changing tastes in the market.

This black version or also called “Evil Nina” from the 1960s is in outstanding mint condition and original in all parts. Near perfect matte dial (with painted U logo inside a rectangle for the versions which Nina Rindt has actually worn) and bezel with tachymeter scale. Looking at the case gives you an idea on how much it was worn, …occasionally probably only. The crystal is still the original one featuring in the centre the inlaid “U” symbol for Universal Genève. Small lines of tritium lume on each of the hands, sub-registers with blocky ones. Not to forget the Genta inspired, elegant curved lugs, all packaged in a 36-37mm steel case. The watch was serviced recently and is perfectly running in all functions.

Our choice was an excellent black leather strap to underline the chronograph itself.
